Recently, I have been trying to find balance in my life. I mean, it’s like I am looking for a balance beam to help me stay true to my 9-5 job, my blog, my personal relationships, and my family. It has become overwhelmingly hard. Two Sundays ago, I literally bummed out at home refusing to do anything. I simple snacked on food around the house, walked around with my fro puffed to the ceiling, rejected every phone call that came in and ignored every single text messages. It was my day of saying No to everything else and YES to myself.
I cannot begin to tell you how relaxed I felt the next day. I was so ready to take on the week. The only ill was that I was up to my neck with work and had my back against the wall for the earlier part of the following week. I still have no regret about it at all. So, with at said here are five self care tips I want to practice and I hope you join me.
1. Take one hour everyday to just be. Do something that you know will truly make you happy
2. Practice the art of saying NO. Sometimes, a no is necessary because while the heart is willing, doesn’t always mean the body and mind can take it on.
3. Work out at least 15mins EVERYDAY.
4. Take time to talk with or spend time with someone special, uninterrupted.
5. Do a good deed for someone everyday- Say something nice, smile, hold the door.
