Healthy Homemade Acai Bowl

I’m always up for a good, healthy meal and today, I wanted to share with you a favorite. Initially, I was on and off with Acai bowls. I’ve had it here and there but it was always a store made one. If you’ve bought these before at a juice bar or a pressed juice shop, then you know just how much they cost. They can run you from $10-20 depending on where you buy them. I get it, we pay for organic ingredients, service and ambiance. I guess that was why my initial relationship was on an off- too costly.

I pride myself on eating healthy, at least a bare minimum. At home, I mostly use organic products and I thought, why not make my own acai bowl?

Here’s my recipe to a simple bowl.

6 Blueberries

 3 Strawberries

6 Raspberries

 4 Blackberries

1 Banana (1/2 to blend & 1/2 for topping)

1/4 cup Almond Milk

1/4 cup Coconut Water

 1 tsp. Chia Seeds

1 tbsp. Acai Powder

1 cup Oats (1/2 to blend & 1/2 for topping)

Chopped Almond

Blend almond milk, coconut water, oats, acai powder, chia seeds, chopped almond, 1/2 of banana and 1-2 of each fruit.

Pour mixture in a bowl and the remaining ingredients as toppings.

Note: measure thickness of blended ingredients to make sure its not too thin. You do not want your toppings to sink. If it is too thin, just add more oats.

Hope you enjoy! Tag me on Instagram in your next or first home made acai bowl!
