London Day Out

 Hi Loves,

Happy New week to you all. Many of you know that I traveled to Europe past two weeks on vacation and I must admit, I had such an amazing time. See, the thing about blogging is that it really is one of those things that  shapes the lens you see things through.

I visited England (London), Poland (Warsaw), and France (Paris) this summer. I will be doing a string of posts as it relates to each city I visited.

Today’s post is a mild overview of a half of day spent in London. Being that London was my home base, I got to really go into different areas of the city and explored a bit. I got a chance to show my cousin and my guy around since this was their first time. The great thing for me is that I have been visiting London since I was nine, my mom lives there, but going about it as a blogger helped opened my eyes to so much more. Summers are definitely the best time to visit. But that is the opinion of a Caribbean born and bred-Los Angeles living-gal.

We tried to head out early on a  Saturday morning to Buckingham Palace, hoping to see the changing of the guards (which is an experience in itself), but we got there 30 minutes late and missed that. However, we did get to peek around. My advice would be to go there before 11am and catch full sight of the palace before it gets crowded.

We lingered for a bit because why not and then we walked over to Victoria’s station, merely just sight seeing. Once we were done, we decided to trail along the pond at Hyde Park heading to Big Ben and the London Eye. On our way, we stopped for ice cream and took in the architecture that the area had to offer.

Spotted Abraham Lincoln in London. He sure loves to travel.

Once we caught glimpse and shots of the London Eye and Big ben, we decided to chill out for a bit before heading back. In reading this, it sounds quite quick and easy, but, London is a walking city and man, we walked. I sure enjoyed walking for a few days but there were times when I was like “I need my car”. I quickly snapped out of  it though.

We made it back to my mom’s, knocked out and rested for the next day adventure to Kensington & Notting Hill. Look out for that post.

Thanks for swinging by loves

xoxo
